Yosemite: 1998 - 2001

Well, the reason that there has been almost no activity on this site is because my computer, named Yosemite, died. I'm not sure what really happened but from the symptoms (Not working at all) I think it may have been a virus attack. Strange kind too as it kept all my files intact yet blew the motherboard to smithereens. Yosemite is a computer that I had problems with from the beginning. It had to be sent to the factory three times and still had quirks. But I came a long way on that system. Learned everything from hardware troubleshooting to advanced web page design to digital art. Now that it's kicked the bucket I've moved to a new machine, an Athlon, that should provide what I need at least for the next few years.

Petya, a 1.4GHz AMD Athlon system, will be the machine that I'll use from now on. And while I could easily host this site from it using Windows 2000 Professional and the satillite internet connection that I will soon have access to, I won't. Mainly due to the recent viruses that have been spread which target Win2000 servers. Soon though... very soon. Most likely a Mac running Apache.

Again, sorry for the delays. With no computer I was unable to do any real work on the site so I'll try to get on it right away. Thank you for visiting and understanding.

September 11th, 2001 - "...A date which will live in infamy..."
To all who were touched or affected by the recent attacks, The good Lord will always watch over us and protect us from evil. No one really understands why God allows things like this to happen, but He is there, and always on our side. It could have been much worse. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones in this horrific ordeal. My hope and constant prayer is that you will be stronger come out of this living hell soon. Praise God that things didn't get worse than they did, praise God that no more people died than how many did, praise God for our nation's leader who will not stand for this, and praise God for a nation who, in the time of tragedy, banded together and stood shoulder to shoulder to offer aid and fight the evil that has shamelessly infected our great world. God bless America. God bless you.

Today marks the official grand opening of Iwakura Lain. If you have been visiting recently you should notice a substantle change in the layout. I have been working for the past two weeks to make the site more user-friendly and lighter on your browser. I almost halved the total size of the site and made a new background image that loads much quicker. The buttons at the top of the page is the navigational array which you can use to access every page in the site. All pages save a few will load in the windows that this text is in to allow you to flip from page to page without scrolling or back-clicking.

The poll got several votes last month and people seem to think that this site is in better hands if I host it myself. As soon as I gain enough revenue I will move Iwakura Lain to a dedicated server with it's own domain name. Sound cool? The best way you can help make that a reality is to sign-up for PayPal, an online money sender which allows you to send money via a bank account or credit card, and make a donation to this site. You can do this with the text links found at the bottom of the site right of the top site buttons. Sign-up then donate it's that simple. ALL proceeds will go into this site and not my pocket.

Now that the site is out of the way I can concentrate on the long overdue content of the site. Please bear with me as I continue to bring this site up to full operational status. The counter and a third topdsite is online, the poll has been updated, and it's 1:50 AM! Cast your vote in the poll, and, as always, stay connected.

Another Cosmetic update. I also started Connected, a Lain webring which your Lain site is free to join. Just go to the Outer Connections page to see Connected and the other webrings I am now a part of. There are two buttons at the bottom of this page which will allow you to vote for Iwakura Lain as the top Anime site online. Please sign the public log when you visit or drop me an E-Mail. I'm working on a counter and some more enhances to the site's visual layout.

In other news, I finally got the fourth domestic Lain DVD so as soon as I get a new computer and a DVD player (Which are now not far off) I'll be able to get cooking with the visual media I have planned throughout the site. Arigato for visiting, I hope to see you back soon.

Fixed a rather sloppy update to Lif.01, sorry about that. I also fixed numerous spelling errors throughout the page as well. This update was more of a fix that a real addition to the site. Lif.01 has more information than before but that's about it... for now.

Public log added so you can say that you Wired here. I also added a links (Outer Connections) page below the lifs so be sure to check that out. In the OC page there's a link to a really crazy site where you can BUY Accela! Personally I'd actually give them money if it meant getting that compilation CD ^_^ but I doubt if you buy any Accela that you'll see it on your doorstep any time soon. I'm trying to get a hold of the fourth domestic Lain DVD before I go too far in the lifs. I want to be absolutely sure of the information posted so the info already there will probably change dramatically soon. Once I get the info up I'll go to work on the multimedia portion of the page. That will require me to buy a decent computer then a DVD player and a video input card to rip the images and movies from them. Whether or not I post entire episodes in Lain will depend entirely on where this site is located when I get there. Tripod would not only frown upon that idea but they don't have the web space for such an endeavor. I do like Tripod's htmlGEAR though. Much easier to setup than Y!Geocities' guestbook.

I'll stay here until I outgrow this place. By then I'll, hopefully, have a local server setup to host my own sites. Anybody who wants any of the above to happen soon can offer assistance via a cool little program called PayPal. I'll do what I can to raise money to continue making sites like this one and more but I do need your help. You will be more than graciously thanked (And you might even get a surprise ^_-).

Lif: 01 is now open to the public. The other Lifs, and more detailed information, will follow as soon as I get the time to search the resources for them. In the mean time, please write and tell me what you think, suggestions, comments, or even if you have something to donate to this website. Happy Wiring.

Iwakura Lain: The Serial Experiments is now open to the public. Some Lifs, Layers, and Experiments may not work yet so please be patient while I get everything together. Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you enjoy your connection here.

You are not mistaken, this is The Wired: Iwakura Experiments. It has been handed over to me, your new Wiredmaster from the site's former owner. Many thanks to him and his site for making this one possible. The name of the site has also been changed and as you can plainly see so has it's design. I will be continuously improving the design while providing you with the most resources, information, media, and personal thoughts as I can. Take a look around and don't be afraid to change the way you think, I'll see you soon... In the Wired.
